RESEARCH:
Calibre primarily caters to professional interior designers and commercial businesses, serving as their go-to wholesale furniture brand. While the customer base encompasses individuals of various genders, the age range predominantly falls between 30 to 60 years old.

This target demographic reflects the segment of customers who actively engage with Calibre, leveraging their expertise in interior design and commercial projects to create visually stunning and functional spaces.

The variant picker was implemented in collaboration with Interior Secrets, using the same method and process to further streamline the user experience for Calibre furniture.
One notable aspect is the absence of a wishlist feature on the site. Upon checking the utilized theme, it became apparent that this feature is not available by default. Implementing a wishlist feature would greatly enhance the user experience on Calibre, allowing customers to easily save and organize their desired items.
Another issue that needed attention was the default incessant scroll feature on Calibre, which made it difficult to view important data and measurements, especially for professionals. To address this, I created a lo-fidelity wireframe as a guide for the developer to resolve the issue.

Based on stakeholder feedback, I iterated and determined the design that best aligned with their preferences.

Following the iteration, I collaborated with the developer to create a live mockup on the site. The end result was a more convenient thumbnail view, enabling users to easily access measurements, descriptions, and materials without the need to scroll to the bottom.

RESULTS:
By implementing design changes that improved the user experience and increased engagement, I successfully raised the store conversion rate by 14% in Q1 2023. The user research provided valuable insights that enhanced customer experience and staff satisfaction, resulting in a 8% increase in store sessions in Q4 2022.

LEARNING:
Ultimately, working with Calibre Furniture has been a refreshing experience. While it may not have the vast target demographic like Interior Secrets or the burgeoning nature of Humble Office, it offers a valuable opportunity for conducting User Research, a vital component of UX Design. Despite its smaller size, Calibre Furniture has allowed me to hone my skills as a User Experience designer in a low UX maturity company. It's been invigorating to delve into user needs and preferences, enhancing the overall user experience of our designs.
